about

Hey! My name is Alba and I’m a cinematographer based in Dublin.

I graduated from the National Film School of Ireland and I have been involved in over 60 shorts since. As a queer woman, I bring a fresh perspective to projects where characters are pushed past their limits and always appreciate a challenge to capture raw emotion and empathy through my visuals. I also have an MA in Screenwriting offering a unique perspective as a cinematographer when lifting a story from page to screen.

In recent years, I’ve won Best Cinematography at the Galway Film Fleadh for my work in Faítíos (2021), and have since garnered recognition at the European Cinematography Awards for my work on Animal (2023), Stable (2023), Callus (2023) and Gillyfish (2024). My work on a variety of documentaries has been broadcasted on Virgin Media, TG4 and RTE with my music video work earning substantial recognition at the EDAs over the years.

Currently, I am being mentored by Kate McCullough (The Quiet Girl, Normal People) and I am the founder of Queer Crew Ireland, a directory that aims to spotlight below the line Irish queer talent.

I own an Alexa Mini package alongside a selection of prime and anamorphic lenses.
